The province's first West Nile Virus-positive Culex tarsalis mosquitoes have been identified in the Estevan area. This species of mosquitoes continue to emerge throughout southern Saskatchewan and numbers are peaking in several localities.

The Government of Saskatchewan announced today that it is holding the province's minimum wage steady at $9.25 until the Minimum Wage Board completes its next minimum wage review.

Provincial Secretary Donna Harpauer will meet with His Excellency Dr. Werner Brandstetter, Austrian Ambassador in Canada, during his first official visit to Saskatchewan next week. His Excellency will be in Saskatchewan August 3-5 to discuss Austria-Saskatchewan relations.

Average weekly earnings for Saskatchewan workers went up again in May, with a year over year increase of 5 per cent.
