Nancy Heppner was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Her family moved to Rosthern when she was six. Following her graduation from Rosthern High School in 1989, Nancy traveled to Mali, West Africa where she volunteered at a Bible school for local residents. Upon her return to Canada, she enrolled in Briercrest Bible College. In 1994, Nancy graduated from Saskatoon Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper until moving back to Rosthern to manage a family owned business. In 1999, Nancy started her own business.

Nancy’s interest in politics was sparked while door knocking for her father Ben in 1995. In 2001, she began working as the constituency assistant for Carol Skelton, former MP for Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar. She later moved to Ottawa to continue to work for Carol Skelton as her member’s assistant on Parliament Hill. Nancy worked for Leader of the Official Opposition (then Stephen Harper) as Question Period Coordinator and remained there until 2005.

Following her work on the 2006 federal election, Nancy became a part of the Issues Management team for the Right Honourable Stephen Harper in the Prime Minister's Office. Nancy subsequently served as Director of Communications for the Minister of Canadian Heritage before returning home to Saskatchewan.

Nancy was first elected to the Legislature in the Martensville constituency in a by-election in March of 2007. She was re-elected in the 2007 provincial election and in 2011. From 2007 to 2010, she served as the Minister of Environment and the minister responsible for Saskatchewan Water Corporation, Saskatchewan Watershed Authority, and the Water Appeal Board. Nancy also served on the province’s Treasury Board.

On May 25, 2012, she was appointed Minister of Central Services and minister responsible for the Public Service Commission and the Lean Initiative.

Nancy Heppner est née à Swift Current, en Saskatchewan. Sa famille a déménagé à Rosthern quand elle avait six ans. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de Rosthern High School en 1989, Nancy s'est rendu au Mali, Afrique de l'Ouest où elle a été bénévole dans une école biblique pour les résidents locaux. À son retour au Canada, elle s'est inscrite à Briercrest Bible College. En 1994, Nancy est diplômée de Saskatoon Business College. Elle a travaillé comme comptable avant de déménager retour à Rosthern pour gérer une entreprise familiale. En 1999, Nancy a commencé sa propre entreprise.

L'intérêt de Nancy dans la politique a été déclenché lors d’un porte à porte avec son père Ben, en 1995. En 2001, elle a commencé à travailler comme adjointe de circonscription pour Carol Skelton, ancienne députée fédéral de Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar. Elle a ensuite déménagé à Ottawa pour continuer à travailler pour Carol Skelton comme son adjointe parlementaire à la colline du parlement. Nancy a travaillé pour le chef de l'opposition officielle (à ce temps Stephen Harper) comme coordonnatrice de la période de questions, et y resta jusqu'en 2005.

Après son travail pour l'élection fédérale de 2006, Nancy est devenue une partie de l'équipe de gestion des enjeux pour le très honorable Stephen Harper dans le bureau du premier ministre. Nancy a été ensuite directrice des communications du ministre du patrimoine canadien avant de retourner à la Saskatchewan.

Nancy a été élue une première fois à l'assemblée législative dans la circonscription de Martensville dans une élection partielle en Mars 2007. Elle a été réélue à l'élection provinciale de 2007 et en 2011. De 2007 à 2010, elle a servi comme ministre de l'environnement et la ministre responsable de Saskatchewan Water Corporation, Saskatchewan Watershed Authority, et la Water Appeal Board. Nancy a également siégé au conseil du trésor de la province.

Le 25 mai 2012, elle a été nommée ministre des services centraux et ministre responsable de la commission de la fonction publique et de l'initiative Lean.
