Nancy Heppner was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Her family moved to the Rosthern area when she was five. Following her graduation from Rosthern High School in 1989, Ms. Heppner traveled to Mali, West Africa where she volunteered at a Bible school for local residents. Upon her return to Canada, she enrolled in Briercrest Bible College, where she took a one-year program before attending the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

In 1994, Ms. Heppner graduated from Saskatoon Business College with honours in office administration. She worked as a bookkeeper until moving back to Rosthern to manage a family owned business. In 1999, Ms. Heppner built her own business from the ground up - Treasures General Store in Rosthern. Partnering with her mother, they bought the bookstore in Rosthern and moved Treasures to its present location.

Doorknocking for her father Ben in 1995 sparked Nancy's passion for politics. She was presented with a unique opportunity in 2001. Encouraged by her family, she began working as the constituency assistant for Carol Skelton, MP for Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar. She later moved to Ottawa to continue to work for Carol Skelton as her legislative assistant on Parliament Hill. Nancy started the exciting position of Question Period Co-ordinator for the Leader of the Official Opposition (Stephen Harper) in 2002 and remained there until 2005.

Following her work on the 2006 federal election, Nancy became a part of the Issues Management team for the Right Honourable Stephen Harper in the Prime Minister's Office. Nancy subsequently served as Director of Communications for the Minister of Canadian Heritage before returning home to Saskatchewan.

Nancy was first elected to the Legislature in the Martensville Constituency in a by-election in March of 2007. She was re-elected in the 2007 provincial election. Ms. Heppner resides in Waldheim.
