     Cabinet Honourable Tim McMillan
Minister Responsible for Energy and Resources
Surface Rights Board of Arbitration MLA for Lloydminster Tim grew up on his family farm, 20 miles east of Lloydminster, where the McMillan family homesteaded more than 100 years ago. It was in these formative years on the farm that the spark of political interest was lit and fostered in a family that was very involved in their community. In high school, Tim represented Saskatchewan on the Provincial Rugby Team, on which he played for 3 years. Tim attended the University of Victoria where he received a degree in Economics. During the summers of his university career, Tim worked fighting forest fires for the British Columbia Forest Service. After his schooling, Tim traveled and worked abroad extensively. His travels have taken him from hiking to the Mount Everest Base Camp to diving on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Tim is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and spent a year contracting as an IT professional in London, England. He then returned to his family farm to establish a business and raise his family. Prior to his election in 2007, Tim operated an Oilfield Service Company. Tim was re-elected by his constituents in the 2011 provincial election. In June 2010, Tim joined the provincial cabinet as Minister Responsible for Crown Investments Corporation, Saskatchewan Government Insurance, Information Services Corporation, and the Information Technology Office. In September 2010, Tim was also appointed as the Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority. In May 2012, Tim was appointed as Minister Responsible for Energy and Resources, Tourism Saskatchewan, Trade and SaskEnergy Incorporated. He and his wife Ali, have two daughters, Reilly and Gracie. La ferme familiale où Tim a grandi, située à 20 miles à l’est de Lloydminster, appartient à la famille McMillan depuis plus de 100 ans. C’est au cours de ses années de formation passées à la ferme que son intérêt pour la politique a pris son essor. Elle-même très engagée dans la communauté, sa famille l’a toujours encouragé dans cette voie. À l’école secondaire, M. McMillan a représenté la Saskatchewan dans l’équipe provinciale de rugby pour laquelle il jouera pendant trois années.
M. McMillan a fréquenté l’Université de Victoria où il a reçu un diplôme en économie. Au cours des étés de ses années universitaires, M. McMillan a combattu les feux de forêts pour le Service des forêts de la Colombie-Britannique.
Après avoir terminé ses études, M. McMillan a beaucoup voyagé et travaillé à l’étranger. Ses voyages l’ont mené en randonnée jusqu’au camp de base du mont Everest et à la plongée dans la Grande Barrière de Corail, en Australie.
M. McMillan est également ingénieur Microsoft agréé (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) et a passé une année en tant que professionnel autonome de la technologie de l’information à Londres, en Angleterre. M. McMillan est revenu à la ferme familiale pour y lancer une entreprise et y fonder une famille. Avant d’être élu en 2007, M. McMillan exploitait une entreprise de services aux champs pétrolifères. M. McMillan a été réélu par ses électeurs en 2011.
