MLA for Swift Current

Brad Wall was born and raised in Swift Current.  He earned an honours degree in Public Administration and an advanced certificate in Political Studies from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.  He also earned the Investment Funds Institute of Canada certificate.

Prior to being elected as an MLA, Premier Wall successfully operated two businesses.  In 1991, he was hired as the Director of Business Development for the City of Swift Current.  While at the City he also started a seasonal tourism business - "The Last Stand Adventure Company".  In 1999, the Saskatchewan Economic Developers Association (SEDA) presented him with the Economic Developer of the Year Award (for 1998).

Prior to that, Premier Wall spent time working on Parliament Hill and as a Ministerial Assistant for the provincial government in Saskatchewan.  In the late 1980s, he was a founding member and the western co-chair of the Alliance for the Future of Young Canadians -- an organization dedicated to promoting free trade.

Premier Wall has been active in his own community in service work and on a number of boards spanning local events, economic development, and health care recruitment and retention.  He was also a founding board member of the Southwest Centre for Entrepreneurial Development.

Premier Wall was first elected to the Legislature as the MLA for Swift Current in 1999.  He was re-elected in 2003, became Leader of the Saskatchewan Party in March of 2004, and was elected Premier of Saskatchewan in the November 2007 provincial election.

Premier Wall and his wife Tami make their home in Swift Current.  They have three children, Megan, Colter and Faith.

Brad Wall est né et a grandi à Swift Current. Il a obtenu un baccalauréat spécialisé en administration publique et un certificat supérieur en sciences politiques de l'Université de la Saskatchewan à Saskatoon. Il détient aussi un certificat de l'Institut des fonds d'investissement du Canada.

Avant d'être élu comme député à l'Assemblée législative, le premier ministre de la Saskatchewan, Brad Wall, a exploité avec succès deux entreprises. Il est devenu en 1991, le directeur du Développement des affaires pour la ville de Swift Current et durant cette période a créé une entreprise de tourisme saisonnier, The Last Stand Adventure Company. L'association de développement économique de la province, la Saskatchewan Economic Developers Association (SEDA) l'a proclamé promoteur du développement économique de l'année en lui remettant en 1999 le prix Economic Developer of the Year Award (pour l'année 1998).

Dans le passé, le premier ministre Wall a travaillé sur la Colline du Parlement et à été adjoint ministériel au sein du gouvernement de la Saskatchewan. Vers la fin des années 1980, il a été membre fondateur et coprésident de l'Ouest d'un organisme voué à la promotion du libre-échange, l'Alliance for the Future of Young Canadians.

Monsieur Wall est une personne très active dans sa propre communauté où il s'y est investi et a siégé à de nombreux conseils notamment d'activités locales, de développement économique et de recrutement et de rétention dans le domaine des soins de santé. Il est aussi un des membres fondateurs d'un centre de développement des entreprises dans le sud-ouest de la province, le Southwest Centre for Entrepreneurial Development.

Monsieur Wall a été élu pour la première fois à l'Assemblée législative de la Saskatchewan en 1999 pour représenter la circonscription de Swift Current. Réélu en 2003, il est nommé chef du Parti saskatchewanais en mars 2004 et il est élu premier ministre de la Saskatchewan en novembre 2007 lors de l'élection provinciale.

Le premier ministre Wall et son épouse, Tami, ont élu domicile à Swift Current avec leurs trois enfants, Megan, Colter et Faith.
