ALBERTA RESIDENTS INVITED TO \"GO WHERE THE JOBS ARE\"

The Government of Saskatchewan today unveiled a marketing campaign directly aimed at convincing Alberta residents to move to, or move back to, Saskatchewan.

"Our province's unprecedented economic prosperity has created an unprecedented number of career opportunities," Industry and Resources Minister Eric Cline said on behalf of Advanced Education and Employment Minister Pat Atkinson. "Saskatchewan offers a compelling combination of quality opportunities and attractive, affordable lifestyle."

"We're letting folks know the doors are wide open, and making the case for Saskatchewan's way of life to commute-weary, mortgage-laden, time-squeezed Albertans."

The $200,000 campaign features testimonials from former Alberta residents who have made the move to Saskatchewan. Albertans will be invited to seek new opportunities at www.saskjobs.ca, the largest job-posting site in the province, with opportunities in all labour market sectors and encompassing skills from entry level to trade, professional or management positions.

The campaign will be visible on billboards, in newspapers, in public transit and in post-secondary education institutions across Alberta. Testimonials will focus on lifestyle themes such as quality time with family, short commute times, affordable lifestyle and availability of opportunities.

SaskJobs.ca will also have a presence at the Saskatoon Real Estate Board's Calgary Trade show, running from January 12-14.

"The days of Saskatchewan being Canada's best-kept secret are over," Cline said. "The word is out – and we're inviting Albertans to 'go where the jobs are!'."
