News Release - July 4, 2007 NEW APPOINTMENT TO HEARTLAND REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITYHealth Minister Len Taylor announced today the appointment of a new member to the Heartland Regional Health Authority. Joining the decision-making board is Don Leitch, a retired United Church minister with extensive experience on health-related boards of directors. Leitch lives in Unity. "An important part of maintaining a strong health care system is the guidance provided by regional health authority members who have a wide range of experience and skills," Taylor said. "Don Leitch has a wide range of experience in government administration, health care governance, handling ethical issues and dealing with people in times of need." "We are pleased with the appointment of Don Leitch to the Board," Heartland Regional Health Authority chair Lyle Leys said. "With his experience on a former health district board, and in other areas, he will prove a valuable resource for the communities he serves and to other board members." The appointment is in effect until July 2008.
