News Release - January 28, 2008 NEW DEPUTY MINISTER NAMEDDeputy Premier Ken Krawetz today announced the retirement of a long-term Deputy Minister and the appointment of a new Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs. Terrance Lang, formerly the Deputy Minister of Corrections and Public Safety, and recently the Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs, will retire from government service in mid-February. "Mr. Lang has certainly served the province well since he joined the public service in 1974," Krawetz said. "We all wish him every success in his retirement." Harley Olsen, a well-respected civil servant with experience with both the provincial and federal governments, has been named Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs. He will serve with the Government of Saskatchewan, while on leave from the Government of Canada. Mr. Olsen has both a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Most recently he served as Acting Director General of the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration. "We are pleased to have Harley Olsen become part of our team as our new Deputy in the Ministry of Municipal Affairs," Krawetz said.
