DEPUTY MINISTER OF LABOUR APPOINTED

Premier Lorne Calvert today announced the appointment of William Craik as Deputy Minister of Labour. His appointment takes effect on April 26th.

Craik was born and raised in Saskatchewan. He has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Craik practised law in Saskatchewan for 23 years and has extensive experience in Labour and Administrative Law.

Craik joined the Government of Yukon in 1999 and has been the Deputy Minister of Justice since January 2002.

"I am pleased an individual with Mr. Craik's experience and background has accepted this challenging position," Calvert said. "His expertise in so many facets of the portfolio and his understanding and appreciation of the issues will serve him well in his new role."
