LONG SERVICE AWARD FOR MOOSE JAW VOLUNTEERS

Social Services Minister Glenn Hagel announced that Ms. Nylene Johnson, Mr. Les Gray and Mr. Sherwood (Si) Simmons, all members of the Moose Jaw Housing Authority Board, are being recognized for long-term volunteer service to the community.

"These volunteers give freely of their time and energies to provide safe, comfortable, affordable housing to low income families and seniors," Hagel said.

The three will receive pins and certificates recognizing their 10 years of service.

Saskatchewan's network of 280 housing authorities depends on nearly 1,500 volunteers throughout the province. Saskatchewan's Housing Authorities structure is unique in Canada and the province of Saskatchewan appreciates the value of local volunteer involvement.

Other Moose Jaw Housing Authority Board members include Mr. Santokh Basi, Mr. Hartford Lewis, Mrs. Flora (Betty) McKenna, Mr. Reginald Forbes, Mrs. Sharon Bourdeau, Mr. Cary (Yogi) Weber, Ms. Donna J. Corthey.
