DUSSION INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Rene Dussion will be held November 2nd-4th, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Village Hall in Cumberland House located on Cumberland Street.

Mr. Dussion, aged 26 years, died July 20th, 2003, while in custody of the Cumberland House RCMP.

Section 20 of The Coroners Act, 1999, states that an inquest is to be held when the death of an inmate occurs in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility.

In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died, and the medical cause of death, the coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.

Coroner Alma Wiebe of Saskatoon will preside at the inquest.
