News Release - April 4, 2003 ASSISTANCE PROVIDED TO FAMILIES FOR CHANGE IN MOOSE JAW
Community Resources and Employment Minister Glenn Hagel announced today the provincial government iis contributing a one-time grant of $50,000 toward a new group home for Moose Jaw's Families For Change. The new home, called Kinsmen Home, will be staffed continuously and will provide total care and wheelchair accessibility for four residents with very high support needs.
"The need for a specially designed group home to address these requirements was significant," Hagel said. "I am pleased that the Moose Jaw community and the province are able to respond in order to improve the quality of life for these Moose Jaw residents." "Families for Change has worked closely with the Community Living Division and the Five Hills health region," Families for Change board chair Caroline Scidmore said. "This grant from the province is a real benefit to those who will reside in our new home." Moose Jaw Families For Change was incorporated in the year 2000 under the Non-Profit Corporations Act to support Moose Jaw area people who have significant mental and physical disabilities. -30- For More Information, Contact:
