NEW APPOINTMENT MADE TO SASKATCHEWAN HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION

Judy White has been appointed to serve on the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.

"Judy White's diverse knowledge, background and experiences will be vital to the Commission and of benefit to the people of this province," Justice Minister Frank Quennell said. "I am confident that she will play an important role in protecting the fundamental human rights of Saskatchewan people."

White holds a Diploma in French Language from the University of Bordeau, France, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Indies, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina, a Master of Social Work from the University of Regina, and is currently working on her PhD from the University of Manitoba.

White is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina and Counsellor with Family Service Saskatoon. She is also involved in several community organizations respecting culture, equity, and immigration.

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission was created in 1972. It promotes and protects individual dignity, fundamental freedoms and equal rights.
