"Over the past few months, we have asked the general public and hundreds of organizations to submit nominations for individuals to represent a cross-section of Saskatchewan people on the Enterprise Saskatchewan Board of Directors," Enterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart said. "I am pleased to announce today that ten very talented and well-respected individuals have agreed to let their names stand as members of this new and exciting Board." The provincial government received over 300 nominations from across Saskatchewan, representing business, labour, Aboriginal people, municipalities, co-operatives, post-secondary institutions, agriculture producers and the resource sector. "We are fortunate to have ten of our province's strongest leaders agree to sit as Enterprise Saskatchewan Board members, and I look forward to working with them in the days and months ahead," Stewart said. "Thank you to those who expressed an interest or who nominated individuals. Individuals who where not selected will automatically be considered for the Sector Teams or Strategic Issues Councils." As well, Enterprise Saskatchewan will soon be accepting applications from individuals to be members on Sector Teams and Strategic Issues Councils. More information is available on the ministry website www.ei.gov.sk.ca. The teams and councils will make recommendations to the Board on the competitive position of Saskatchewan's key economic sectors. -30- For more information, contact: Deb Young |
