PREMIER ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD

Premier Brad Wall announced the 2010 recipients of the Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service today during National Public Service Week.

"Saskatchewan is replete with examples of hardworking individuals whose innovation and leadership make our province the best in Canada, and the public service is no exception," Wall said. "These public employees have made outstanding on-the-job contributions in their service to the citizens of our province and are most deserving of this recognition."

The Premier's Award for Excellence recognizes public service employees in three categories: Innovation, Quality Service and Leadership.

The team recipients are:

  • Battlefords Domestic Violence Treatment Options Court, Justice and Attorney General (Innovation)
  • On-Unit Programming: Courage to Change Field Study, Corrections, Public Safety and Policing (Innovation)
  • Saskatchewan's Olympic Pavilion Team, Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sports (Leadership)
  • Soldier Settlement Negotiations Team, Energy and Resources; Justice (Leadership)
  • Vaccine Management Team, Health (Innovation)

Individuals or teams from government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee.
