News Release - December 5, 2012 RFP RELEASED FOR NEW PRIVATE LIQUOR STORESThe Request for Proposals (RFP) document outlining the application process and operating details for Saskatchewan's three new private liquor stores has been released. "Since announcing these new private stores, there's been significant interest from prospective operators," Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority Donna Harpauer said. "These new stores will provide improved access and convenience for customers, especially in our two largest cities. The private liquor stores - two in Saskatoon and one in Regina - will offer customers a full line of wines, spirits and beer products and will meet growing customer demand in the cities' growing neighbourhoods such as west (Blairmore), south (Stonebridge) and south-east (8th Street East) Saskatoon and northwest (Rochdale corridor), southwest (Harbour landing) and east-end Regina (Victoria Avenue East). However, proposals are not limited to these neighbourhoods and applicants are asked to submit their own best location for their proposed store. Deloitte will conduct the RFP process. Submissions will be evaluated on the business plan, site proposal, financial capacity, business qualifications and project schedule. The deadline for submissions is January 30, 2013. Proposals will be reviewed and a decision is expected in late March 2013. A link to the RFP will be available on the SLGA website at www.slga.gov.sk.ca. Questions about the RFP requirements, process or proposal guidelines should be submitted by email (only) to slgarfp@deloitte.ca. -30- For more information, contact:
