PREMIER CALVERT HEADING NORTH FOR FIFTH ANNUAL BUS TOUR

Premier Lorne Calvert is heading north for the fifth edition of his annual "Dialogue with Saskatchewan" bus tour.

Every summer, Premier Calvert and a number of his colleagues hit the highways and roads to visit communities around the province and talk to Saskatchewan residents about issues that are important to them. This year, the tour will visit northern Saskatchewan.

"The annual bus tour is something I look forward to every year," Calvert said. "Visiting Saskatchewan people in their hometowns allows us to gain a unique perspective from the province's residents about how their government is serving them, and how we can improve. At the same time, my colleagues and I have the privilege of experiencing the unmatched hospitality of Saskatchewan people and the unrivalled beauty of this province's scenery."

Week 1 of the tour officially kicks off June 15th in Meadow Lake, and will include stops at Green Lake, Canoe Lake Cree Nation, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Buffalo Narrows, Buffalo River Dene Nation, Dillon, Clearwater River Dene Nation, LaLoche, Turnor Lake, Birch Narrows First Nation, Beauval, English River First Nation, Patuanak, Pinehouse, Big River, Big River First Nation and Prince Albert.

Accompanying Premier Calvert on the bus for Week 1 will be Northern Affairs Minister Buckley Belanger, First Nations and Métis Relations Minister Maynard Sonntag, Community Resources and Employment Minister Joanne Crofford, Labour Minister Deb Higgins, Saskatchewan Rivers MLA Lon Borgerson and Regina Elphinstone MLA Warren McCall.
