News Release - April 2, 2005 PREMIER EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES ON DEATH OF THE POPE
Premier Lorne Calvert today expressed condolences to the Roman Catholic community of Saskatchewan on the death of the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II.
"On behalf of the government and people of Saskatchewan, I extend sincere condolences to all mourning the loss of a great and holy man," Calvert said. The pontificate of Pope John Paul II is one of the longest and most remarkable in the history of the Papacy. He has been a prominent world leader for the past 26 years.
