News Release - June 15, 2004 DEADLINE TO CLAIM UNSEEDED ACREAGE AND REPORT SEEDED ACRES IS JUNE 25TH
Saskatchewan Crop Insurance customers who are unable to seed their normal number of acres as of June 20th due to excessive moisture must contact their customer service office before June 25th.
"Crop Insurance is an important risk management tool available to Saskatchewan producers," Agriculture and Food Minister Mark Wartman said. "One of the basic components of coverage available to all customers is the Unseeded Acreage feature which covers producers when it is too wet to seed." Customers are also required to submit their seeded acreage reports by June 25th and are reminded about the June 20th seeding deadline for full frost coverage eligibility under the program. More information is available at local customer service offices. Seeded acreage report information determines which acres are insured and the premiums and coverage on those acres and is also used to calcuate claims including Unseeded Acreage. This information is also required to qualify for the remainder of the Spring Credit Advance Program loans which are administered by the Canadian Wheat Board and the Canola Growers Association. Crop Insurance customers received personalized seeded acreage report forms in the mail at the end of May. Completed reports can be submitted to Crop Insurance by phone, fax, mail or at any customer service office. -30- For More Information, Contact:
