IMPROVING SASKATCHEWAN SCHOOLS

Saskatchewan students and communities are the major beneficiaries of upgrades to schools throughout Saskatchewan.  The provincial government is investing an estimated $6 million to improve the learning environment in 40 Saskatchewan schools.

“Support for these school improvement projects demonstrate our continued commitment to work with school divisions to provide healthy, comfortable and well equipped learning environments for Saskatchewan students,” Learning Minister Deb Higgins said.  “We are investing in schools, students and, ultimately, in the future of Saskatchewan.”

The projects announced today include improvements such as roof replacement and restoration, mechanical system upgrades, renovations, additions and portable classrooms, as well as preliminary planning funding.  Funding for these projects will be cost-shared with school divisions across the province.

“These school improvement projects are part of the government’s commitment to make Saskatchewan the best place for young people to live, work and build strong futures,” Higgins said.
