PUBLIC SERVANTS HONOURED WITH PREMIER'S AWARD

Premier Lorne Calvert presented the Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service to recipients during a ceremony in Regina today. The award recognizes outstanding contributions by Saskatchewan public servants.

"Saskatchewan is fortunate to have highly skilled people who demonstrate quality service, innovation and leadership," Premier Lorne Calvert said. "These dedicated individuals have made a real difference in people's lives across Saskatchewan."

This year's recipients are:

• Don Fairbairn from the Intergovernmental Relations Branch of
Saskatchewan Community Resources and Employment;
• Terry Lang from Saskatchewan Corrections and Public Safety;
• Don Stevenson from the Saskatchewan Public Service Commission;
• Five members of the Cree Court Party from Saskatchewan Justice;
• Four members of the Taxation and Intergovernmental Affairs branch
from Saskatchewan Finance; and
• 32 members of the Information Management Branch from Saskatchewan
Environment.

Individual employees or teams from government departments, most Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination. In this, the first year of the Premier's Award, a total of 41 nominations were received for employees in 16 different departments and agencies.
