NEW CONSTRUCTION IN MOOSE MOUNTAIN PROVINCIAL PARK

Today the Government of Saskatchewan announced a $552,931 contract to G. Hahn Contracting from Fort Qu'Appelle for the construction of a new campground service centre in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

The service centre will provide modern washroom and shower facilities to campers in the north area of the Fish Creek Campground. It will replace the existing service centre which is now more than 35 years old and no longer meets current building codes or accessibility requirements.

"Our government is committed to providing quality services in our provincial parks," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Dustin Duncan said. "The new construction will ensure visitors to Fish Creek campground have access to safe and clean washroom and shower facilities."

Earlier this month, government also announced the replacement of the south service centre in Fish Creek Campground. Both service centres are expected to open for use in the spring of 2010.
