UPDATE WEST NILE VIRUS

On Wednesday, Saskatchewan Health announced 97 probable and confirmed West Nile Virus cases. Thirty-three additional cases were identified as under investigation. Seventeen of those have been found to be probable cases of West Nile Virus. The majority are probable West Nile fever, but one person from the Sun Country Regional Health Authority is being treated for probable West Nile Neurological Syndrome.

Three cases previously thought to be probable have been removed from the list following further testing.

This brings the total number of probable and confirmed infections to 112 in Saskatchewan. Almost half of the 17 new cases are in the Regina Qu'Appelle Regional Health Authority.
