News Release - March 1, 2007 NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR PREMIER’S AWARDSaskatchewan residents have until April 30 to nominate provincial employees for the 2007 Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service. The award recognizes individuals who exemplify what government values most in its employees; quality service, innovation and leadership. “Our public service employees play an important role in helping to shape the future of Saskatchewan,” Premier Lorne Calvert said. “Each year we are able to recognize these individuals, whose work has made Saskatchewan the best place in Canada to live, work and build strong futures.” “Our public service employees work hard to provide Saskatchewan residents with safe and prosperous communities,” Provincial Secretary Glenn Hagel said. “It is a privilege to recognize these committed people, who have made it their business to serve Saskatchewan with heart and spirit.” Individual employees or teams from government departments, most Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination. Up to six awards will be announced during National Public Service Week in June, with the presentation event occurring in the fall.
