ENTERPRISE AND INNOVATION MINISTER LEADS INVESTMENT MISSION TO EUROPE

Enterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart will be promoting Saskatchewan to foreign audiences in Ireland, Norway and Denmark next week during an international investment attraction mission, which commences Saturday, August 23, 2008.

Minister Stewart is leading a Saskatchewan delegation composed of officials from AgWest Bio Inc. and other biotech companies from Saskatchewan to the 2008 Agricultural Biotechnology International Conference (ABIC) in Cork, Ireland. While there he will make a formal presentation on the topic of the province's world-class biotech, life sciences and agriculture industries.

"This is an excellent opportunity to promote Saskatchewan in some lucrative markets," Stewart said. "We are continuing to encourage investors in both the province and around the world to look at Saskatchewan as a great place to do business."

The delegation will be meeting with approximately a dozen businesses and organizations to raise Saskatchewan's international business profile and generate economic interest in the province.

Minister Stewart will also be travelling to Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark for working meetings with major life sciences companies and research institutes-including Yara International, which recently purchased Saskferco-as well as other companies which have identified an interest in Saskatchewan before returning home on Saturday, August 30.
