CENTENNIAL MESSAGE FROM PREMIER LORNE CALVERT

Dear Friends,

This weekend, Saskatchewan celebrates the 100th birthday of the best province in the best country in the world.

We celebrate our history and our contributions to Canada, contributions like Medicare - the nation's most cherished social institution. We celebrate our future and the promise that our second century holds.

We celebrate our communities and we celebrate our place in this great country but most of all we celebrate our people. There has always been something special about Saskatchewan people.

We are fiercely independent yet enthusiastically cooperative, proud but notoriously modest. We are hardy, resilient and unflinchingly optimistic.

We are resourceful and ambitious, known across Canada for our work ethic. And we are known around the world for our great generosity.

As we enter our second century, our provincial motto From Many Peoples Strength is as meaningful as when we entered Confederation.

We are First Nations and Métis peoples with centuries of history and culture. We are immigrants from around the world, descendents of pioneers and together we celebrate 100 years of Saskatchewan and 100 Years of Heart.

So let's all join the celebration and say Happy Birthday Saskatchewan! Happy Centennial!
