PELLETIER INQUEST POSTPONED

On Tuesday, Kent Stewart, Saskatchewan's Chief Coroner, met with the Pelletier family to discuss the organization of the impending inquest into the death of Delbert Kenneth Pelletier.

As a result of those discussions the inquest has been postponed and will be conducted at a date to be determined. Alternative locations are being considered that are in the area of the First Nation and that are acceptable to all parties.

On November 13, 2006, Delbert Kenneth Pelletier was fatally wounded on the Muskowekwan First Nation.

"All parties want and deserve closure to this tragic event," Stewart said. "We are confident that as a result of ongoing discussions we can proceed in a suitable and respectful manner. We are working to address the needs of all parties in this matter."

The Office of the Chief Coroner will provide further information once the details of the inquest have been finalized.
