MORE THAN 40,000 STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM GRADUATE RETENTION PROGRAM

Once again, it is tax season, and time for post-secondary graduates to include their Graduate Retention Program (GRP) certificate when filing 2012 income tax returns.

More than 40,000 students have benefitted from the GRP since it was introduced in 2008.  The program provides a refund of up to $20,000 in tuition fees over seven years to encourage eligible graduates to stay, live, and work in Saskatchewan.

Graduates who have not received a GRP certificate should contact Student Services at 1-800-597-8278.

“The provincial government is committed to post-secondary education and the key role it plays in Saskatchewan’s growth plan,” Advanced Education Minister Don Morgan said.  “By providing a wide array of financial assistance programs for students, we ensure that Saskatchewan is the best place to live, study and work.”

“The GRP is helping graduates build their future in Saskatchewan.  By supporting post secondary education, we ensure our students have the tools they need to access and complete their post-secondary education and find a job in our growing labour market.”

Information on the GRP is available at http://www.aeei.gov.sk.ca/grp.
