News Release - May 12, 2006 CONSUMER PROTECTION ALERT – AGRICULTURAL SERVICES CANADA
The Consumer Protection Branch of Saskatchewan Justice along with Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food continues to alert farmers to the activities of Agricultural Services Canada or AgServe.
The Branch is concerned the company, which is not licensed to make direct sale telephone calls in Saskatchewan, may be misleading farmers about being able to supply farm inputs at a reduced price. The Branch's concern stems from the knowledge that Mr. Curtis Malinowski is involved with the company. Curtis Malinowski plead guilty in Court of Queen's Bench in Saskatoon on November 21st, 2005, to a global charge of fraud involving 15 complainants and an approximate dollar value of $350,000 for a pre-fabricated housing scam. He was also the subject of a May 2005 CTV W-5 forum for his various activities. Any individuals receiving calls from Agricultural Services Canada or AgServe is asked to contact the Consumer Protection Branch in Regina, toll-free at 1-888-374-4636. -30- For More Information, Contact:
