News Release - May 23, 2006 NEW MEMBERS NAMED TO SUNRISE REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY
Health Minister Len Taylor today announced the appointment of two new members to the Sunrise Regional Health Authority. He also designated a chairperson and a vice-chairperson.
Preeceville mayor Grant See and Melville city councillor Walter Streelasky have been appointed to the health authority. To fill the chairperson position vacated by departing health authority chair Ben Weber, Taylor called on vice-chair Ivan Peterson of Hazel Dell. Replacing Peterson as vice-chair is Greg Kobylka of Yorkton. "I am pleased that the province's health authorities continue to attract members with a wide range of experience and skills," Taylor said. "The residents of Sunrise Health Region continue to be well served by its health authority members." "On behalf of the health authority, I want to welcome Grant and Walter to the board," Peterson said. "We look forward to working with them on the many challenges that lie ahead. We also want to acknowledge the valuable service to the community provided by former health authority members Raymond King and Ben Weber." The appointments are in effect until July 2008. The province's health authorities are responsible for the planning, organization, delivery and evaluation of health services within each of 12 health regions. -30- For More Information, Contact:
