News Release - June 26, 2003 NEW RV CAMPSITES IN DUCK MOUNTAIN
More people are travelling with larger motor homes and recreational vehicles (RVs) and Saskatchewan's provincial parks are developing new full service campsites designed to accommodate them.
"Cypress Hills, Meadow Lake and Moose Mountain already have a number of full service campsites," Environment Minister Buckley Belanger said. "They have been very popular, so this summer, 15 new full service campsites are being developed at Duck Mountain Provincial Park." Most parks can comfortably handle RV units in the 20 to 25 foot range in campgrounds. The increasing popularity of larger trailers and motor homes, however, has led to a demand for more full-service campsites, which include direct hookup to water, sewer and electricity. The total cost of this project is approximately $160,000, and will be funded by the province's Centenary Fund. The Centenary Fund, a four-year, $120 million program, will leave a legacy of Saskatchewan's centennial for future generations. -30- For More Information, Contact:
