SASKATOON PROVINCIAL CORRECTIONAL CENTRE INMATE UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE

STEPHEN ERIC BEST, Date of Birth November 2, 1983, escaped lawful custody while he was under supervision by Saskatchewan Provincial Correctional Centre staff while being treated at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon.

Best used a razor blade to escape one of the corrections workers accompanying him on the medical transfer, then fled.  The corrections worker was not physically injured.  The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating.

Best’s charges include Robbery, Causing Bodily Harm, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order.

His description is as follows:

Height: 5 feet 8 inches (173 centimetres)
Weight: 170 lbs (77 kgs)
Build: Medium
Eye Colour: Blue
Hair Colour: Blonde
Complexion: Light

Tattoos:

Dragon Head on left shoulder
STEVEN on Left Arm
BEST on Right Arm
‘306’ on Right Arm
