News Release - May 19, 1999 CASINO FUNDS SUPPORT CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAMS IN KINDERSLEY AND KERROBERT
Municipal Affairs, Culture and Housing Minister Carol Teichrob
announced today that the communities of Kindersley and Kerrobert have received $8,000 in casino profits through the Associated Entities Fund. "The province established the Associated Entities Fund to distribute a portion of casino profits for the benefit of Saskatchewan people," Hagel said. "Since the beginning of 1997 more than $4.5 million in casino profits have been distributed throughout Saskatchewan for programs that support children, youth and families." The Kindersley Lions club in partnership with the Town of Kindersley received $3,000 toward the Children's Summer Playground Program for children ages four to 12. The Kerrobert Youth Centre in partnership with the Kerrobert Recreation Board received $5,000 in support of a Youth Centre Summer Program offering a safe, supervised facility for healthy activities and positive interaction between youth.
