CALVERT CALLS MARTENSVILLE BYELECTION

Voters in the constituency of Martensville will be going to the polls on Monday, March 5, 2007.

Premier Lorne Calvert called the byelection today.  The riding became vacant with the death of Ben Heppner on September 24, 2006, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

“I am calling this byelection now so constituents in Martensville can have a MLA in place for the spring session of the Legislature,” Calvert said.  “The byelection campaign is an opportunity for the government to discuss both its record and its focus on making life better for Saskatchewan families and building an even better future here for young people.”
