CABRI RESIDENTS CELEBRATE GRAND OPENING OF NEW K-12 SCHOOL

The people of Cabri and surrounding area, joined by Learning Minister Andrew Thomson, gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Kindergarten to Grade 12 school in Cabri.

"The Government of Saskatchewan's investment of over $1.6 million in this project demonstrates its commitment to high-quality education, for all of Saskatchewan's students, regardless of where they live," Thomson said. "When we invest in capital projects for education we are investing in our children and youth and in the future of Saskatchewan."

"We are pleased and excited to be opening this new, state-of-the-art building," School Board Vice Chairperson Larry Caswell said. "This is an example of how Prairie West School Division, the provincial government, and the Cabri community have worked together to bring the best of education and community service to Cabri. We offer Cabri, on behalf of the communities in Prairie West School Division, best wishes and congratulations on the new school. We continue to strive for the best possible facilities and services for all our communities."

The Prairie West School Division and the community have funded the remaining cost of the $4.4 million project. Community involvement has resulted in a larger facility, most notably a larger gym and performing arts space, enhancing the facility for both educational and community use.

"I acknowledge and commend the spirit of partnership between the community and school division that has contributed significantly to the new Cabri School," Thomson said. "Projects such as this help us achieve excellence in our education system and this new facility will go a long way toward helping Cabri's children and youth reach their potential."
