News Release - June 23, 2010 PREMIER ANNOUNCES NEW SENIOR APPOINTMENTSPremier Brad Wall announced today a number of changes in the leadership of the Saskatchewan Public Service and provincial Crown Corporations. "These changes will assist our government in moving forward with our growth agenda and ensuring that all Saskatchewan people benefit from that growth," Wall said. Wall announced the appointment of Karen Layng as Deputy Minister of Finance. Layng is the first woman to hold that position in Saskatchewan. Layng has served as Assistant Deputy Minister, Treasury Board Branch, at Finance since 2005. Among other positions in her public service career, she was also a senior policy advisor in Executive Council's Cabinet Planning Unit, and held several senior roles within Saskatchewan Health. The other changes announced today are as follows:
Layng, Matthies, Olsen and Jones move into their new positions on July 1, 2010. The appointments of Styles, Watson and Carter are effective August 16, 2010.
