SASKATCHEWAN CELEBRATES EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION PROGRAM WEEK

Deputy Premier and Education Minister Ken Krawetz proclaimed the week of May 3-8, as Early Childhood Intervention Program Week in recognition of the important contributions made by the program to children and their families. Special events took place across the province this past week to celebrate and recognize the children, families, volunteers, staff and partners who make the program a success.

"The learning success and achievement of our young people is vital to securing the future of our province," Krawetz said. "Early Childhood Intervention Programs foster smooth transitions for children and families, and ensure equitable access to and consistent delivery of programs throughout the province."

"Early Childhood Intervention Programs are very proud of the work we do and are very thankful for the valuable input we receive from the Ministry of Education," Early Childhood Intervention Program of Regina Executive Director Debra MacDonald said. "We believe that our children are the most valuable resource we have in this province and we need to continue to invest in and celebrate them."

The Ministry of Education provided more than $3.7 million this year to the Early Childhood Intervention Programs that are provided by 15 community-based organizations to more than 700 children and their families throughout the province.
