THIRD SASKWATER UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO REGINA STUDENT

SaskWater has awarded its third University scholarship to University of Regina Administration student, Elaine Linton.

The scholarship is the third award from the SaskWater Scholarship Fund introduced in May 2004. The scholarship fund is a $30,000 award agreement with the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. The fund provides, one $3000 annual scholarship at each University to deserving candidates pursuing degrees in Administration or Engineering.

With student funding typically less accessible in the latter years of study, the SaskWater scholarship is geared toward upper year students who have completed two years toward their degree in good academic standing. "The SaskWater Scholarship Fund has been well received by the university community. So far, we have been able to support three outstanding students in their academic studies," Minister responsible for SaskWater Peter Prebble said. "Our goal is to help students realize their education goals and increase the availability of skilled professionals in the Saskatchewan market."

Scholarship recipients in 2004 were University of Regina student Elizabeth Nguyen and University of Saskatchewan student Edwin Zhang.
