HIGHWAYS MINISTER EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO FAMILIES IMPACTED BY TRAGIC ACCIDENT

Highways and Infrastructure Minister and Minister responsible for the Public Service Commission Wayne Elhard today extended his deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the tragic accident near Belle Plaine on Friday.

"On behalf of the Premier and the Province of Saskatchewan, I extend our deepest sympathy to the families of both men who lost their lives in Friday's tragic mishap," Elhard said.

One of the two men killed was a Highways Ministry snowplow operator, Jim Gallenger, who had been with the ministry for 28 years. Elhard said Jim was a dedicated Highways equipment operator who, in addition to ensuring Saskatchewan's highways were safer, was an individual who didn't hesitate to come to the aid of another motorist.

Motorists are asked to slow down and drive safely.
