WISHING SASKATCHEWAN A SAFE AND PRODUCTIVE FALL HARVEST

As our province enters the harvest season, the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety reminds producers to take extra precautions as the risk of injury is higher during this time.

"Farm safety is a major concern in Saskatchewan and an important priority for the Government of Saskatchewan," Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan said. "Let's work together to make sure everyone gets home safely."

In Saskatchewan, there are on average 14 deaths and hundreds of injuries each year on farms. The majority of farm injuries and deaths are machinery-related.

It is critical that all machinery is fitted with safety features, and safety precautions are understood and taken at all times.
