News Release - February 27, 2004 PROVINCE HONOURS 10-YEAR HOUSING VOLUNTEER
A Christopher Lake man has been honoured for 15 years of volunteer service as a board member of the Christopher Lake Housing Authority.
George Leybourne received a certificate of recognition and a commemorative pin recognizing his 10 years of volunteer service. Saskatchewan Rivers MLA Lon Borgerson presented the certificate on behalf of Community Resources and Employment Minister Joanne Crofford. "The province's network of 280 housing authorities depends on the selflessness and dedication of volunteers like George Leybourne," Borgerson said. "For an entire decade Mr. Leybourne has helped make his province and his community and area a better place to live by his commitment to social housing." Mr. Leybourne continues to serve on the board of directors of the Christopher Lake Housing Authority, and is one of more than 1,500 housing authority volunteers across Saskatchewan. The Christopher Lake Board manages 12 housing units within their community. Housing authorities are community-based organizations that manage the province's social and affordable housing for seniors, families and persons with disabilities. -30- For More Information, Contact:
