CYPRESS REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY MEMBERS APPOINTED

Health Minister John Nilson today announced the reappointment of 10 current members of the Cypress Regional Health Authority to a second three-year term.

"The health authority members, under the leadership of chairperson Dennis Lafreniere and vice-chairperson Allan MacArthur, have served the community well since the creation of regional health authorities in 2002," Nilson said. "I am pleased that we can call upon them for three more years of service."

Reappointed to the regional health authority are:

· Dennis Lafreniere, Swift Current, chairperson
· C. Allan MacArthur, Herbert, vice-chairperson
· Bruce Deg, Vanguard
· Lois Donnelly, Swift Current
· Barry Elderkin, Maple Creek
· Betty Goddard, Cabri
· Ronald Heeg, Swift Current
· Alma Thibault, Ponteix
· Brian Whiteside, Swift Current
· Audrey Lynne Yee, Swift Current

The appointments are in effect until July 2008. The authority is responsible for the planning, organization, delivery and evaluation of health services within the health region.

Nilson expressed thanks for past service to Shirley Etter of Leader, who declined reappointment, and Ronald Johnson of Climax who had previously resigned. The two vacancies will be filled in the coming months. Residents interested in putting their names forward for the regional health authority should contact Saskatchewan Health.
