News Release - January 29, 2001 ROMANOW CALLS BY-ELECTION FOR FEB 26
Voters in the constituency of Regina Elphinstone will go to the polls February
26 in a by-election, Premier Roy Romanow announced today. "Our government ensures no constituency goes unrepresented longer than six months," Romanow said. "This by-election will mean the people in Regina Elphinstone will have a new MLA for the spring sitting of the legislature." The government passed legislation in 1992 to ensure no seat remains vacant longer than six months.
