News Release - September 19, 2011 PREMIER WRAPS UP SUMMER TOUR IN EAST CENTRAL SASKATCHEWANPremier Brad Wall will wrap up his 2011 summer tour this week with stops in Melville, Langenburg, Yorkton and Preeceville. After this week, the Premier will have visited 35 Saskatchewan communities this summer including Biggar, Delisle, Warman, Osler, Big River, Yellow Grass, Weyburn, Estevan, Radville, Carlyle, Oxbow, Carnduff, Redvers, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Lloydminster, Maidstone, Cutknife, Cupar, Lestock, Kelliher, Ituna, Buffalo Narrows, Pinehouse, La Ronge, Air Ronge, Montreal Lake, Timber Bay, Regina Beach, Lumsden and Moose Jaw. "Everywhere I went, even in areas hit by flooding, there was a positive, optimistic attitude about how things are going today in Saskatchewan," Wall said. "At the same time, people were telling me there is more work to be done to keep Saskatchewan moving forward." Wall said in every community, people identified both the opportunities and the challenges of growth. "Saskatchewan's economy is strong, but we can work to make it even stronger," Wall said. "We have fixed a lot of highways, but there are still more that need to be fixed. Surgical waiting lists are getting shorter, but we need to ensure wait times get shorter still. Communities are growing, but there is room for even more growth." Wall said there is a clear sense that Saskatchewan is moving in the right direction and his government will work hard to ensure that momentum continues. "Saskatchewan people know this is the best place in Canada to live, but they also know that together, we can make it even better." -30- For more information, contact:
