2006-07 BUDGET TO BE DELIVERED APRIL 6TH

Finance Minister Andrew Thomson will deliver Saskatchewan's 2006-07 Provincial Budget in the Provincial Legislature on Thursday, April 6th.

"This Budget will build on the strength of Saskatchewan's growing economy. It will provide for new investments in our communities, our infrastructure, and our social programs and it will set out a clear plan to secure Saskatchewan's prosperity," Thomson said.

The Budget will also include the government's response to the Business Tax Review committee and will include initiatives to enhance the quality of life enjoyed by Saskatchewan residents.

Thomson noted that Saskatchewan's economy is performing well and that maintaining this momentum will be a key focus of the upcoming budget.

"The Budget will help to ensure that Saskatchewan remains the best place in Canada to live, work and raise a family," Thomson said.
