SENKO INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Larry Senko will be held June 1st-3rd, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saskatoon Queen's Bench Courthouse, 520 Spadina Crescent East.

Mr. Senko, aged 41 years, died September 30th, 2003, while an inmate at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre.

Section 20 of the Coroners Act requires an inquest be held into the death of any person who dies while an inmate in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility, unless the death was due to natural causes and was not preventable.

In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died and the medical cause of death, the coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.

Coroner Alma Wiebe of Saskatoon will preside at the inquest.
