Health services across Saskatchewan continue to operate under strike contingency plans during this time of Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan's (HSAS) limited job action.

The following are the updated statistics as of 11 a.m., July 5, 2007:

• Three patients have been transferred out of province (two airlifted, one by vehicle).
• In the Saskatoon Health Region, six individuals have been notified that their surgery has been cancelled for a total of 85 notifications.
• In the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region, two individuals have been notified that their surgery has been cancelled for a total of 47 notifications.
• Hospitals will continue to discharge patients no longer in need of acute care.

This update will be sent 2 p.m. week days, as long as health sector contingency plans are in effect.

Regional health authorities are providing information to the public in their communities regarding service disruptions. Residents are asked to contact their individual regional health authorities for detailed information.
