News Release - June 6, 2012 JOB POSTINGS UP 25 PER CENT ON SASKJOBS.CASaskJobs.ca continues to help workers and families connect to new opportunities in Saskatchewan. There were 16,779 jobs posted on the site in May, a 25 per cent increase compared to a year ago. More than half of all the jobs posted in May were full time positions and that trend continues to move upward. "Saskatchewan's strong economy is attracting people from across Canada and around the world," Economy Minister Bill Boyd said. "With jobs available in more than 350 communities, there are opportunities for people in every corner of our province." The new SaskJobs.ca mobile site has been in operation for two months and there were almost 63,000 visits to the site in May. Job postings for processing, manufacturing and utilities rose 45 per cent over May 2011, and trades, transport and equipment operator postings rose 43 per cent over the same period. With more than 11,000 jobs currently open around the province, SaskJobs.ca is Canada's largest, most accessible website for Saskatchewan-based job opportunities. -30- For more information, contact:
