News Release - June 27, 2003 DRINKING WATER INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET
A new website www.SaskH2O.ca is making it easier to find out information about drinking water in Saskatchewan.
Information on the site includes drinking water quality and effectiveness of treatment. Other information on the site includes pertinent legislation and links to other water-related websites. "We are pleased that people will now be able to quickly and easily find out specific details about the quality of water in their own, and other communities using the internet," Environment Minister Buckley Belanger said. "The new system helps ensure those responsible for drinking water standards, from waterworks operators to government regulators, are publicly accountable by the ongoing release of up-to-date water information." The new system is part of the Government of Saskatchewan's Safe Drinking Water Strategy. It's a co-ordinated effort of government departments and agencies involved in drinking water and brings together under one web address, information and services available from the Government of Saskatchewan that relate to water. -30- For More Information, Contact:
