PREMIER WALL PROMOTES SASKATCHEWAN IN THE UNITED STATES

Premier attends a major energy conference in New York and Planning meetings on Energy and Agriculture in Washington D.C.

Premier Brad Wall has accepted an invitation to be the keynote speaker at the East Coast Canadian Energy Conference in New York, March 13th.

This conference attracts top Canadian energy companies as well as major institutional money managers from across the United States. Wall is the first Saskatchewan Premier to be invited to this event.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to tell the Saskatchewan story to a group of business leaders who are looking to potentially invest in our province," Wall said. "Our resource sector is thriving, but there is still room to grow in a sustainable way, and that could potentially mean more investment and new opportunities for Saskatchewan people.

"With our conventional oil and gas supplies as well as the potential for future oil sands development, our province will increasingly become the answer to a lot of questions regarding energy security in North America. I will also be talking about how Saskatchewan alone accounts for 26 per cent of the world's uranium production, and the opportunities that massive resource presents to potential investors and to the security of our own economic momentum."

The East Coast Canadian Energy Conference is organized annually by FirstEnergy Capital Corporation, Canada's leading energy focused investment bank.

"We're delighted to have Premier Brad Wall provide a keynote address to this audience," FirstEnergy CEO Jim W. Davidson said. "Premier Wall's investment-friendly approach and his government's growth agenda will allow Saskatchewan to play an increasingly important role in meeting energy needs."

The Premier will also be travelling to Washington D.C. in early March for a series of meetings on energy and agriculture. Exact dates and a full itinerary will be made public, once arrangements have been finalized.

"Our expertise and knowledge is sought by our largest trading partner, the United States, and that is what makes this mission and these opportunities exciting for all Saskatchewan people," Wall said. "We will continue to build on our economic strengths and promote our province as a solid place for investment. Our potential is just starting to be realized."
